Motivational Speaker

Ian Thomas
Ian Thomas is an international keynote speaker, author, and leadership strategist whose work draws powerful parallels between the natural world and modern organisational leadership.
Originally trained in business, Ian later followed his passion for wildlife conservation and guiding, working at the renowned Londolozi Game Reserve. During this time, he developed a strong reputation as a skilled tracker, specialising in locating lions in the wild. His expertise and field proficiency led to him achieving the prestigious “Scout” qualification from the Field Guides Association of South Africa — the highest level of professional tracking and guiding recognition awarded for excellence in guiding in big game environments, advanced tracking, and weapon handling. Ian was the first individual to receive this distinction.
While working as a guide, Ian discovered a natural ability for teaching and storytelling. This talent ultimately led him to a successful career in professional speaking. Today, he presents internationally across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States, sharing insights on leadership, teamwork, resilience, and strategic thinking.
Drawing on lessons observed in nature, Ian emphasises how the dynamics of wildlife behaviour — particularly within lion prides — can inform effective leadership and organisational success. He is the author of the book The Power of the Pride and has appeared on radio and television discussing leadership, teamwork, and overcoming challenges.
